Create attractive, native habitat and reduce erosion on and around your septic mound with our Septic Mound Kit. Expertly designed with our friends at the University of Minnesota, the Septic Mound Kit includes a collection of beautiful native flowers and grasses that will strive in drier, poorer quality soils (septic mound fill) while providing important ground cover to reduce erosion. Most importantly, these plants have small, fibrous root systems to prevent damage to underground septic system components.
Consider planting in full sunlight in well-drained soils on top of a septic mound.
This kit includes 36 live plants. Six plants of each species listed below. We recommend planting in a 40-60 square foot area.
The Septic Mound Kit will pair well with the MNL Septic Mound Seed Mix, Sandy Soil Kit, Backyard Prairie Kit, Big Prairie Kit, and Short Prairie Grass Kit.
